I have the 7805u and I've noticed since the first day that the hard drive temps are pretty high (between 48-53 idle, in the low 60's on load). I was wondering what other people's temperatures are and if anyone else has taken extra steps to cool the hard drive (a laptop cooler perhaps? or any hacks?). I'd like to not have to replace my hard drive too soon if it can be avoided (I suspect that my hard drive is already dying, though).
P.S. I tried to search for more info on this but gave up after going through those giant threads. Sorry if this is info is duplicated.

I roughly get around 45-50 degrees Celsius on idle, and low 50-55 on load. About the same as you I guess, but I think the temperatures are a bit too high, I remember reading that 55 was the maximum operational temperature. It's too bad there's no fan for the HDD, or at least none that I can see.

Are you guys using coolers or stands? If so, which ones?
EDIT: FYI, I'm using soda bottle caps to prop up the laptop by the back stomper-thingies. I've tried elevating the front end too but i didn't notice any real difference. -
I am getting 43c to 44c idle and 44c to 46c load. it never pass 46 Celsius. My cpu is at 31c to 33c idle, gpu at 46c to 48c idle. no coolers on my p-7805 fx.

i get the same temps, i have little bumpers i bought through 3m that i have on the bottom of my laptop on four corners. If you decide to get some, i recommend getting real tall ones or else it wont really make a difference
