Hello, I was using my 7805u (browsing) yesterday, and suddently it powered off. (It was on charger). From that time, it doesn't open, and when I plug the charger to the laptop, the charger led goes off. Does anybody know how to fix it? (except changing motherboard)?

The brick itself may be dead. Essentially you were running on battery untill that ran out now it will not power up. This is how my original power brick came with the computer. under any load the brick would just go out.

Now this may not be the issue, or even the only issue but it would be my first suspect................

sorry, I forgot to tell, that the battery was on the laptop and it was charging, and I tested the brick on another computer, and it worked fine.

ok then the brick is folding, what other laptop did you try it on as the other laptop may not tax the brick as hard and it will work with that laptop.

looks like there's short circuit somwhere on the MB.... you'll probably have to bring it to repair service... else you could swap your mb with p79.

Also the power board is a daughter board meaning you may have to replace that as well..............

What do you mean by brick? the charger box? Anyway my 7805u always dies at anytime due the the battery i guess. it goes of on its own. Now im just saving some money for a new one.. Maybe December.
