    Hello,

This is a strange bug I've been chasing for the last few days, and I've researched everything I can think of without much success.

    Here is what happens:
Any time I hit a key on the keyboard, the touchpad stops responding for a moment. While typing this, if I move the mouse immediately after hitting a key, it takes 1.5 seconds (estimate) to respond. In a real example, walking in minecraft, I cannot aim the camera. I have to let go of the W key, and wait that 1.5 seconds, and then it will allow me to aim.

The above is what happened with this touchpad driver. Gateway Support - Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / P Series / P-78

Now I've installed this driver. Drivers | Synaptics
The result is better, but still not gaming friendly.

Now the delay is more reasonable, something more like 0.25 seconds, (again this is an estimate) but while holding the W key it will freeze the touchpad, not allowing me to aim again until I've let go of the key.

This wasn't a problem in Windows Vista Home Premium x64 with the shipped drivers, (whatever those were) but now I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 with the newest synaptics drivers above. (Second link)

Does anybody have any suggestions, or need any other info? This is truely driving me insane.

For one if you wanna use the touchpad to game like in a FPS you have to disable the tap option. Secondly disable the option where it disables the touchpad when you are typing. I've actually uninstalled synaptics all together as I was tired of the popup when I'd plug in my mouse. The only thing I miss is the scrolling.

I have a "hide pointer while typing option" but not a "disable touchpad while typing option" with the version I use.............

I didn't see such an option either.

I will give your driver a try and report back. It can't be any worse right? :p

    TANWare, thank you!

    Those drivers work perfect.

good deal, I knew they worked here. I had issues with some of the newer ones as my main thing is disable the touchpad with mouse installed. To slow down the touchpad from your thumb moving the pointer etc there were options but I found them all problematic.
