Does anyone know if this can be done? I find them distracting and a little too Racer X for my tastes. I'm okay with disabling the whole ****ed thing if it'll turn the LEDs off. Thanks.

I was also thinking about this the other day
Disabling it or at least turning down the brightness a little bit maybe?

How are those annoying? There aren't very many of them...?
-
To me, the only real annoying lights are the blue ones on the front if you're in a dark room watching a movie. The orange don't bother me too much.

I love lots of lights on my laptops. In fact, it almost led me to buy this:

I guess I'm just that big of a dork that I feel all futuristic when I'm in a dark room with that stuff.
that thing has lights alll over it, too bad they sli'd 8700... yeah, that makes sense... -
Actually I envy the XPS' and Alienwares for their cool light factor. I'm kinda geeky like that also. Especially the Gen 2 XPS' with the silver back and adjustable lighting. Wow. I would just turn it off when watching a movie in the dark.

Ah, I miss my XPS laptop. The one I owned right before my FX6831. It was fun downloading a plugin for winamp that flashes all the lights according to the song I'm listening to. Disco is really disco at night.

Well, the color scheme is bad enough in a corporate setting...the lights are just too much. I'm glad there is at least this option, but I do kinda wish our FX's had some light effects on the lids.
