I've read that flashing to a previous Bios will fix the 98C TZS0 problem.
    Is this accurate?

I'm completely blanking on where I can get the different BIOS versions for the 7811. Is there a link or some software that does it automatically?

I'm not running RAID, and while I'd like to have the option to do so in the future, since I do have two harddrives, if being able to run RAID causes me performance problems, I'll just forget about RAID.

Is there a preferred BIOS version to run for 3DMark scores?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Is there a specific bios which fixes the 98C TZS0 issue?

    Thanks

Edit: The latest bios sure as hell doesn't fix it.
Should I flash to an older one?

Many posts have said that '05 bios is the best for that issue. I believe it is in reality a HARDWARE issue that is really not solvable in a BIOS update. Send it in for a new motherboard if you continue to have probs. Good luck and keep us posted.

The TZS0 problem i thought was only a problem if you upgraded CPU's and flashed to newer BIOS. At least i dont remember hearing about it running stock CPU+stock BIOS.

The RMClock fix does pretty good for alieviating it though.

Raid is nice as it lets you transfer alot faster, but isnt going to help gaming at all unless you just want a slightly faster load time. But it deffinatly wont hurt your rigs preformance. Also no BIOS is going to iprove your 3dm06 score... really has nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I have the TZS0 problem with my stock CPU.
I'd LIKE to upgrade my CPU, but...I haven't yet.

The RMClock fixes it, but lowers the multiplier or something like that of the CPU.

What I meant by the RAID affecting performance was if I was using a BIOS that caused the 98C issue solely for RAID, I'd just forget about RAID.

What I meant by the bios helping the 3DMark score was just if one of the BIOSs fixed the TZS0 or made it happen less or something like that. I didn't express myself correctly. Of course the Bios will not directly affect my score.
    My apologies.

Yeah the RMClock will kill your top multiplier if its a .5 multiplier. I cant remember if the stock CPU in the 7811 uses a 1/2 multiplier or not. I believe there is a hack to allow RMClock to see .5 clocks though.

Oh and if you just wanted RAID then go back to the stock BIOS, raid is nice and i enjoy mine. But its honestly not worth the hassle. It greatly increases your transfer times, but if your not transfering large files all the time then i dont see where you will get a huge benifit from it (again not counting slight load time increases)
Once i upgrade to my new Hard drives i'll be taking apart my RAID array. Its nice, but i miss Linux and i want a seperate hard drive for linux and for win7.

500gb SSD for win7, 500gb 7200rpm drive Linux... sweet sweet goodness :p All packaged in my extreme driven nehelam laptop (hopefully still an FX)

hmm... I'll have to look into that.

What do you mean about an "extreme driven nehelam laptop (hopefully still an FX)"? What processor were you going to put on the FX?

    sorry, its just me rambling.
I'm not upgrading from my 6860 until nehelam is released for laptops (or maybe even the die shrink of it). At that point i'm grabbing the Extreme CPU and the afore mentioned hard drives and living happy for another 2 years :p

Thats why i said hopefully still an FX. I'm not sure if gateway will still be pumping them out then, and if they are i want the ability too overclock (at least a few multipliers) and if they dont offer that i might jump ship. Hopefully that wont be the case though i like it here ;)
