Thats a CPU with a LGA 775 socket. Incompatible. (Used in Desktops or Custom Notebooks)

    You need a 'Socket P' CPU - P7350; P8400; P8600; T9400; P9500; T9600; X9100.

Andy is right. Processors like the E8400 use Intel's desktop socket are used in super-desktop replacement notebooks like the Clevo D901c, ASUS C90 or even my dad's HP Pavilion zd8000 (which is 3 years old and uses a Pentium 4 630) to name a few.
