I purchased a P-7811FX in August of last year. Most of the time, I've fed the display out to an LCD monitor (res 1920x1080) using the HDMI port. As of this week, the image through the HDMI port "vibrates" (that is the best way to describe it), I tried using another monitor and another cable and the problem continues. If I use the laptop screen or the VGA port, the problem does not occur.

Have any of you had this problem before?

Any suggestions before I purchase an external hard drive, backup my data, and take the laptop to either Best Buy or Gateway (and is one preferable over the other)?

Have you recently updated your drivers?

Thank you for identifying my problem. I was using 179.28 and had upgraded to 185.85. Once I reverted back to 179.28 the image went back to normal on HDMI.

No worries, Updating drivers isnt always as simple as just getting a new one. You need to throughly test them for stability. While they can give you great preformance boosts it never seems worth it to me if your system suffers ill effects.

I would recommend trying out the newest 5 or 6 drivers, one is probably stable in your system. Just be sure to give any driver a good "going through" before you settle on it as a new default.
