    7811 Mother boards $299(not mine)

    I would stay away from the P7811 boards. They most likely were manufactured before the nVidia solder replacement in 8/2008. The P7805 was made primarilly in 11/08 and later so hopefully they would have the new bump material. All P79xx's should be well after the bump material issue so they should be fine in that manner.

    The problem supposedly were in the G92 chips. The 7805 uses the newer G94 55nm, where as the 7811 used older G94 65 nm, so again hopefully P7805's are safe. Now the 260m is based on the G92b but since the anounced date was 2/09 it should be safe.............

    7805 or 79xx.............

    Edit; To be honest, if my board were bad the 79xx board is a no brainer. The 7805 board is essentially what you ahd, with the 79xx you get better graphics (apr 5-15%) and the possibility of a quad core later on.

    So let me get this staight for myself out of all the p78 and p79 series laptops, I know the p7808u supports quad, are there any more that do??

    P7808-u P7802-c, P7901h and P7906a are all I know of off hand that came with quads.............
