For those who own a 7811, I thought I'd share the photo that I'm using as my desktop background. I took this photo in Chicago; it's the Calder Flamingo sculpture located downtown in the Loop. It's bright orange, and with the black building as a backdrop it really matches the 7811's color scheme quite well. I love it on mine, personally.

Here's the link to the full-res version. The size is bigger than the 1920x1200 that the 7811 runs natively, but just right click > set as background (in FF) and set it to "stretch" and it looks awesome. Alternatively, open in a photo editor of your choice and resize/crop to your taste.

Just thought I'd share if anyone wanted some new eye candy for their 7811. Thanks!

PS - if anyone has their own wallpaper that they want to share, feel free to reply and add it :)

God I miss Chicago. Nice shot man. It's my background now.

Finding nice 1920x1200 backgrounds is harder than I thought it would be.

Sure... its really just a little bit of messing around with photoshop.... Ive had many classes and tutorials in all versions of the Adobe Suites, so it does take some time to learn how to use the tools in a fashion that will help you achieve what your goin for.... but when I get some more free time im going to probably make a small little guide if some of youd like and maybe give you a base to start with and you can then do what you want with it

    Very nice backgrounds, man !
I love the photo in the link, what camera did you use ?
Your other desktop is awesome for the FX line, perfect. The only thing is, that it will expose any bottom light bleed, so common in 7811.

Well... the photo is sprocket87, the FX wallpaper is mine... also I have the 6860 and this wallpaper does not seem to have an effect as far as bleeding goes... but as you said maybe just a problem for the 7811?

Depends on the LCD. I have 3 7811s and one of them has light bleed. The other two do not. :)

You want to go old fashion, one way I turned my desktop around was Litestep, www.litestep.com or any dev will do, stardock was a major dev for customizing your desktop.

Here's my desktop as is. To access icons I simply right click to get a popup menu, I could show my desktop or not, typically I like seeing my wallpapers without clutter =)

Let me know if you want me to post any of the full size originals. I've posted some here and most of these are actually 1920 by the way:

sadly alot of the stardock programs do not yet work in a 64bit OS. Some of them are beginning to such a window blinds, but Object Dock and others still do not.
I like what you did you yours though, you use litestep for that?

First image was using Litestep with the latest build, check out litestep.net
Basically its a 3rd party customize program for windows (instead of using explorer you use litestep)

Second is using WinStep (the angel photo) I personally prefer winstep in customizing my desktop - all my quicklinks are lower left side of screen, all my sidebars to theh right top, practically windows customized, if I wanted i can make it look exactly like mac-OS or linux based on how you want it to be.

very customizable and easy to use, just google up WinStep or Litestep.

Edited - Litestep can be a tab complicated to learn, (has a learning curve like anything else) I would suggest
checking out the basic installer - it comes with 1 theme - however if you run into problems it can be tricky if you dont know how to resort
back to explorer mode, I would suggest if your not that experienced with customizing windows, check out winstep,
gives you a great new look and its fairly easy to setup.

All thanx go straight to my favorite band Porcupine Tree http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mM2gPRM_jU and Lasse Hoile, a great photographer and artist - www.lassehoile.com .

I used to work with Cushman and Wakefield real estate consultants. Sometimes we had projects so big, that we had to work at nights. That's when the inspiration was coming :)

    WinSTEP in one easy download
Simply UnRAR the files, WinSTEP is the main file - rest are themes, you either
unzip them in the WinStep folder or I think 1 theme you can double click to install it directly. Very simple! enjoy

    Download from Uploading.com

Nevermind what godspeed has to say, i wanna see all your custom themes, specifically the ones that you have tested and know work with the 7811 64bit OS.

I like messin' with this stuff and i was bummed that desktop X didn't work with vista 64. :-(

Let me see what you got! and then maybe help me get it up and running too
