so thanks to good ol uncle sam- my 7811fx was critically smashed by a freakin private with a m249 saw...... well a month after turning it in to BB for damage replacement- they actually tried to fix it!! there was a nice big indentation where the buttstock hit. well to make a long humorous story short- i got it back a few days ago with a new screen, new mobo, and new hard drive............It has an LG 1920x1080, a 7805 motherboard and a WD 320GB 7200rpm hd now......yeah they didnt replace the hard drive cover that was cracked, but i found one for 5 bucks. Everything internal was new. but still old chassis with 7811fx sticker

now the big question i have(ive searched but cant find) is what are the temperature increases like for using a t9800 2.93ghz 35w versus a 25 watt like the p9600 2.66ghz? im on ebay right now going back and forth on the two........ can the 7805 HS handle a 35w processor?

I put a T9800 in mine about a week ago. Runs just fine. Can't speak about the temperature differences though. I never checked before/after.

No, it's a retail/oem chip. I got it from Dell.
