I have a 7811FX and my screen gets distorted when I see dark colors. I have reason to believe I have a defect NVIDIA GPU in my system, and the only way to fix it is to send it to Gateway, whose service is atrocious. Any ideas how to fix this without Gateway Support? Is my assumption even correct?![]()

Can you be more specific? My Gateway's LCD has pretty poor viewing angles, so the colors invert pretty easily when viewing dark scenes (i.e. in games or videos) at anything besides straight-center.

when i see dark colors, my screen gets all crazy and static-like. it's similar to when you're trying to hook up a tv, but the color is all crazy and "white-snow" like.

lol yea, i had the same problem myself about 3 weeks ago. I think it has something to do with the media buttons. The connector is right under them after all. I think maybe pushing the next track button pushes at one edge of the connector, and causes the other end to lift up a bit. You may need to refix it in the future.
