ok my laptop locked up on me again so i shut it down and then preceded to start it back up and it got to the loading of windows and then the bars would go by like five times and then it would freeze and then i tried to run last known good configuration and then it froze again so i tried safe mode it worked and then i tried safe mode with networking and it froze... so the only way i can get it to run is by going in to safe mode but i dont know what to do in safe mode... and for all you geniuses who say how are u writing this im using another computer... so i dont know if i should mess with it or just take it to bestbuy because i purchased a four year warranty with accidental lol....

    1) Put Recovery CD into drive.
    2) Hit "Next" when recovery menu appears.
    3) Click "Repair your computer." Do NOT click the install option.
    4) Click "Command Prompt."
    5) Type "Bootrec.exe /FixMbr" and hit enter.
    6) Type "Bootrec.exe /FixBoot" and hit enter.
    7) Restart, remove recovery CD, and boot windows as usual.

Hope it works! If it doesn't, post again and we can try a different solution (System Recovery - Reload a recent Windows savepoint).

And if you plug it back in does it not boot still? Suggests a power issue (warranty)

What BIOS u using? Could be an issue. Also, maybe your plug wasn't fully seated?

And ****, try a different USB port?

All the 3 ports do the same thing, I will upgrade the bios to 12 but i don't think this will solve this issue

can't hurt..could help. Now, you said it freezes..is that when you boot with it connected? Or, when you boot into vista and then connect it? Cause, maybe your BIOS is set to boot from USB HDD and is attempting to do so at boot. If it's freezing when you're in vista, and plugging in..update the firmware on the ipod, and check for software compatability..(newest itunes, etc.)

well...your problem is easily resolved. First, don't be dyslexic.(kidding) And second, download a different BIOS. That BIOS is crap man. Gimme a sec..I'll post a link to a better option.

This contains all BIOS versions .05, .08, and .12..with the v30 being the .12 verson. Try either that, or the .08 version. Hopefully that fixes your issues. Lemme know, cause if not then we'll troubleshoot elsewhere.

    Sorry, forgot bout that.

Well I've updated to C9.12.00 and it indeed fixed the ipod problem , and the crazy fans boosts , and also reduced the number of lockups , only freezes after 2 hours of HL2DM, with the old bios i can't play for no longer then 30 minutes, maybe the OC is causing the lockups will work on it.
