I no longer have the 7811FX.. However, I do have the copper shim that I spent much time sanding and such to use in place of the northbridge thermal pad. It really didn't stop TZS0 from tripping.. but, it did drop temps a little bit. Someone else recently posted asking about the copper mod. And royk50 pointed out the mod thread. Well, I have the shim that I sanded to a proper fit, I also have the same thickness shim that's a little bit smaller in width and length. The exact sizes of shims can be found in the Copper mod thread linked below. I'll happily send the finished shim to the first person to ask. And, the other shims can also be mailed by request. Lemme know if you're interested, just PM me.

Browse thru to find shim sizes and details.. the finished product is towards the end of the thread..maybe pg 9 or 10.

Im very interested! Will it fit the CPU aswell?
-
nooooooo... you can't put a copper shim between CPU and heatsink. If your heatsink isn't touching your CPU you already have a problem. They should be very snug. This is only for the northbridge gap.

FREEEEE!!!! As title says, giveaway!

nars, if someone gets the pre-modded one.. then you're still welcome to the smaller version, which happens to also be just a lil bit bigger than the Northbridge dissipator. You gotta sand on your own. I have other thicknesses and sizes..and if someone wants to spend the time sanding, they'll all work. The sizes are in the cop mod thread. Pick a size, and I'll mail it out. Lemme know whatcha want.

OK.. JBN hit me up @ 2:13 AM on the pre-modded one. I've got the smaller one, just needs to be sanded down, as it was they both were the same original thickness. And, from what I hear the 6860 actually has a bit larger of a gap than the 7811..so it may fit perfectly. Or, you may want the larger one that's the next thickness up. And syn, you know you're welcome to whichever you want as well. I had a total of 6 originally. I'll pm you guys.

If you got any left over, I'll take one.
-
Just PM me with info.. Syn & narsnail inquired. But, no mailing info yet. Im gonna send out JBNs today. I know nars has had temps issues. You guys let me know what you work out and I'll mail em out.

Thought I might try it on my Everex.
PM'd the big E my address.
Thank you kind sir.
Good luck to Nars ... -
PM sent. I don't know if I'll be trying this the very day I get it, but I will have some free time in December
And when the P9600 comes out, I plan on upgrading to that if it isn't too much more expensive than the P9500 (if rumors are to be believed, it will be cheaper). So if it doesn't get done in December, it WILL get done then. -
I really thought nars would jump on it..but, he still hasn't pmd be back. *shrugs* sending what I got to you guys. Also, going to include a bit of the thermal material that was sent to me for trial. And, I'll throw in a small bit of thermal pad just in case you need backup if something happens to the stock pad.
So, you'll get some copper, REAL thermal pad, 2 trial thermal pads from Thermaltake. Gonna fill out some envelopes and such tonight and send out tomorrow.
EDIT: nars, I am keepin a small shim and a original thermal pad for you. Just in case you're interested. -
Nars is still trying to calculate the exchange rate on FREE.
