I am in the market for a new notebook and this machine has recently become the front runner. I was looking seriously at the M570tu/NP5760 but I have been turned away by the noise issues. My current machine is an Acer 8204 and I have been very pleased with the noise levels. Unless the room is dead silent I don't notice the fan at idle.

I realize that not many people have these yet but those of you who do...are you working on reviews? I'd love something comprehensive but I have a few specific questions...

    (1) How glossy is the screen? I am used to Matte screens and I am a little concerned I'll be blinded by the glare. Good brightness and colors?

    (2) How loud is it at idle? Do the fans ramp up and down or do they stay consistent?

    (3) How do you feel about build quality? Think it will last?

    Thanks for your answers!

1)The screen is glossy but it is bright and very good looking :).
2)The fans vary at times, they ramp up and down for a couple seconds on start up and then randomly when you are using it but for the most part they stay consistent.
3)Build quality is much better than the Alienware m15x I had. It will probably last you quite a long time if you take care of it.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask it is an amazing laptop :)

    1) The screen in fantastic, same resolution as my 24" LCD, a ton of screen real estate in a mobile package. I can finally WOW, code and surf at the same time on the go. The glossy screen makes the colors pop, text seem a little sharper. My last few laptops have had glossy screens, IMO it is something you get used to.

2)Fan noise is not bad, have not played any games on it, but it is easily quieter then a few other machines we have around here.

    3) Quality is decent. It's not as solid as my IBM G41 (old tank) but it is on par with my HP dv6375 it is replacing. Weight is not to bad for it's size, I think my IBM G41 still weights more.

Very slick unit at a great price

Thanks for the feedback roybfr. Glossy does seem to be the majority choice these days.

just let you guys know, you should go to nvidia control panel and turn up the color vibration if you haven't already, helps quite a bit.

if you would ask me for screen i would chose matte cause of reflation.

Sometime you cant see nothing from reflation but in dark places its just awesome to have gloss i thing but matte is good to.
