So i have a 7811fx and ive been using a tv with the hdmi, until yesterday what ive done is just close the laptop lid and the desktop would transfer to the tv, to watch movies or play games.

but after installing riddick and getting some message saying that aero is getting deactivated becuse of blabla it stopped working, cant get it to work. i have tried with and whitout aero, and the powersaving option is on do nothing.

someone knows what to do? think its a software issue, maybe something is preventing it somehow, similar happened to me with dreamscape on, nothing would happen, but, ive tried with vista basic theme and still nothing, please help X)

    update:

So i managed to resolve my problem, however it was really time consuming googling and trying all kinds of things to resolve it.

after 3 system restores i finally got things to work, possible issues was problay atitool or/and chronicles of riddick attack on dark athena. dont no why or how, or if its even it, but thats the changing factors just until the problem appared so for those with the same problem.

see if u installed or changed anything., do system restore avoid the install or whatever.

uninstall riddick... does the issue persist?

i'd call that step 1 in troubleshooting mode.

well. uninstalling riddick didnt do any difference, however i noticed that when starting up with the lid closed the windows symbol shows up but after when the welcome is suppose to come screen goes black. so im pretty sure its some software setting thats need to be changed or whatever. tried new drivers to the gfc too, but i think it's maybe something in vistaaa
