    I purchased a refurbished gateway p7811fx from ebay back in march, when i received it, the only game i really played was WoW. Occasionally while playing the fps would drop to the single digits. This happened infrequently, so i didnt concern mysel with it too much. I have just switched over to playing Aion, and now the problem is more pronounced. I am constantly running at and below 15fps, at times dropping down to 1fps. i downloaded 3dmark vantage and scored 396. I am currently downloading 3dmark06 and will post my score as soon as i have it.

    when running nvidia system monitor it list my clock speeds as:
    core = 168mhz
    memory = 100mhz
    shader = 337mhz

    i have them set to run at:
    core = 750mhz
    memory = 950mhz
    shader = 1750mhz

    the factory defaults:
    core = 600mhz
    memory = 799mhz
    shader = 1500mhz

    i am not sure why it is running so low.

    anybody know what might be causing these problems and have a possible fix?

    You are overclocking it too high. The GPU will throttle down because it can't handle those clockspeed. Just lower ur OC to 680/900/1700.

    i tried lowering the clock speed repeatedly. eventually i went back to the default. no luck, it always throttles down to 168,100,337. any ideas?

    Is it in High preformance mode? Or balanced, or power saver? Also what are the temps at?
