The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    vista64- plugging in headphones or line wont switch off builtin spkrs or turn on headphone output. reinstalled sound driver from gateway site-nojoy. shows up in device mngr as high definition etc, doesnt say conexant. I orginally made no change to system for it to fail that i know of. :mad: not impressed with sound implementation to begin with, now really not :eek: solution?- I manually reinstalled driver, picked mi1herya inf and it started working, well see if it stays on reboot. the setup app didnt pick this one, I guess. there is more than one in there I dunno why
