Initially posted on the 7805u topic, but now I saw it's a different problem, because on that model the noise only starts AFTER the fan stops, in my case it's only when the fan is working. Really, I don't think it's a problem, but wanted to be certain by creating this topic.
Would like to know your reports people, if everything is fine or there is a problem with my unit.
Also, I'd like to know what you guys did to get rid of the bloatware that comes with this one. I'm trying to make a clean install (using ABR, anyone recommend?), but also whises that all "personalized" things for Gateway that comes with this one were also included, but that's impossible, I think.
From the other topic:
I hear a high pitched noise only when the fan is working, the moment it starts working the noise comes, but it's VERY VERY quiet, normally I don't notice it, the problem is when I'm in complete silence, because the sound becomes very annoying (right now for example... not really annoying but I simply wished that it could not exist)
Can anyone confirm if changing the bios would work? Is this a caracteristic of the machine or a problem? Also, that thread with bios for 78 series does not apply for me, right? Because my actual driver version is 79.00.07...
EDIT: found a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK4o7...eature=related
It's not that loud, it's WAY WAY quietter, but annoying in silence...

Well, I just talked with the support and they said that's normal, it's the way the machine was built, so everything is fine.
I'd like to ask you guys one thing regarding the Dolby System: do I have to install any drivers to get it working? Does it make the games slower? I did a clean install right here, and everything is fine...
What's the audio driver you guy's are using?
