Has anyone tried this out? It sells for $1599 CDN (Deerfoot Meadows Future Shop - just opened - their price is $50 less than other Future Shops). It has a 1.73 GHz P-M and the ATI X700 (64MB).

I just picked one up and the review is on the way.

My biggest concern: is the X700 ram 64 bit? I think so, but tests will tell.

First impression - nice solid machine.

Where did you see that? That's the French version at Futureshop and it's 64mb X700. Also Gateway site has it as the French model with X700 64MB.

You are right. I think the GH is French and the GZ is English. The X700 is only 64 MB and is probably 64-bit memory. I am writing a review so you will soon know if it is worth spending your money on.

Look forward to your review, I actually have one, being using it for almost a month. I am quite happy with it for the money. I did compare the LG and Tohsiba 17" at Best Buy / Futureshop and I still think the Gateway had the best specs for its price.

Dude, this is the sweetest noetbook I have ever reviewed. The CPU and Video system are both USER UPGRADABLE!!!

There is a Go 6800 with 256MB available for this notebook!

    Very cool! :)

Well, it is a standardized part. I would like to try out a Dell card. But yeah the parts are rare.

Everything else being equal I would rather have the option to upgrade in the future.
