I did a search and its not very clear to me that the x700 I have in the machine can be replaced with a GeForce Go 6800? Does it have to be a Gateway verison of the Card that's used in the NX850 series? Has anyone had any luck ordering this part from gateway? Can I use the 6800 off the Dell 9300 ? I see so many of those on Ebay.
Anyone know if this laptop has a MXM 2 or 3 slot?
Thanks.

You cannot use the Dell part. It's a modified version of MXM...not the standard. Some people had luck ordering the part from a vendor of Gateway surplus parts. Try a search on notebookforums.com...I think that's where the link was posted.
The version you need is the 6800 that was offered on the M680. Probably also the same used on the NX850. Since the 6800 was offered in that chassis...and it's MXMIII, then the slot must be MXMIII. The x700 is MXMII(I think), but the slots are compatible(at least generally). -
Thanks for the reply. I contacted a guy that was listed here in the forums and he said he was out of the part. I'm tempted to just sell my gateway and go for the new computer altogether.
Does anyone know if the Part from NX860XL the Geforce 7800 Go will fit? Cause I can go for a 7800 if that fits... unless it costs more then 300.00...
