I am planning to upgrade my RAM but I am pretty lost regarding the type of RAM that I should buy. All I know is that it is DDR2 533Mh sodim. I went to the kingston website and searched my memory type and it gave me a 512DDR2 533mh sodim for 60 dollars. I tried searching by manufacturer in that case Gateway 8510gz and it gave me the same memory for 73 the cheapest. Can any of you guys help me with that issue. I know that there should be a difference in the prices of notebooks and descktops RAM but I also found the same notebook memory for 49 in price grabber. Maybe the number of pins is different or something. I appreciate your help.

This is the part # for kingston 512ddr2 KVR533D2S4/512

I first got these, works great. Then I got a deal for Hynix 2 x 512 ddr2 4200 so I returned the Kingston. Been using the Hynix for a month, all good. By default the 2x256 from the 8510gz are Hynix. As long s you get ddr2 4200 ram, you can't really go wrong.
