    Hey guys,

Well recently Ive had some problems with overheating in my laptop. So i brought out an air compressor, sprayed all the dust out and now my CPUs are running fine. And my GPU is too.

But when i went to start playing my games (WoW, crysis, BF2, COD4) the GPU slowly rises to abut 90 c then my comp shuts off. Note that ONLY my GPU rises in heat, the other two CPUs stay at around 40-50 (If not lower)

While idle my GPU is fine, just stays nice and cool at 45 c.

So my conclusion was that its a fan problem. Because once I start up my games the fan for the GPU doesnt turn on or if it does, its not very effective.
Ive downloaded Rivatuner and tried to control fan speed but whenever I try to adjust it there is no tab for fan control.

    Help would be appreciated
    Ryan,
EDIT: Once I minimize or tab out of whatever game im playing. GPU temp immediately drops

You could try buying a cooling pad as a temporary fix, but you may want to contact gateway if the laptop is still in waranty

Yeah I wanted to try and refrain from doing that due to the hassles of sending it there and back. and the down time and the setup again and blah blah blah lol. But it looks like thats what im going to have to do.

Try and clean the GPU vent.

That should fix your problem :)

Blow and through the exhaust / intake.
