I have a 2.1 setup hooked up to my laptop. I am running a simple auxiliary cable from the audio out port on the side of the laptop. However, I get a lot of static, buzzing, and noise from it when the speakers are on and nothing is playing. Only does this when connected to the laptop.

Anyone else have this problem? Solution?

Check again with headphones, no problems hear ;) You may have a bad cable/connector or have odd setting in sound panel which can be checked after headphone test.

You have a bad sound-out port like mine. Play with the plug by pulling out 1mm and it should sound fine.

You know guys, I just realized that we have 3 wire AC adapters, unlike my HP or Dell. The Ground and shield are common which my get you a ground loop to a receiver or other outboard device. Just something else to check for.
