So, i was thinking it'd be time to upgrade soon, and was looking at gaming laptops, as my inner gamer is beginning to blossom. Theres a pretty good deal (i think) on an FX 7811, and was looking for some advice. Hes asking $400

"Gateway FX 7811, 1.4 years old. New 320GB 7200RPM drive. Some wear on the casing. Asking 400. "

What say you? im emailing him for pics. Thanks for your help? :D

That is a hella good price. If you can i;d try to see it in person. I'd be a little weary about someone selling it so cheap, as I'm super paranoid about used electronics.

But, who knows, maybe it is in good condition, and the guy just wants to get rid of it. Either way, definitely take your time, and trust your gut.

Well, he responded this morning, and pics are on the way. He says he doesn't want to ship it, so theres a good chance that'd i definitely see the laptop before i bought it.

well perhaps he stole them, then used them for a while then is trying to get rid of them. Either way it doesn't matter to you, you don't know and if its been 1.4 years im sure your not going to get catch anytime soon, plus the warranty is already up.

I would recommend doing some stress tests and memory test when you are at his place with the system and perhaps an LCD color quality test.

Thats a good idea. Any ones that i could run off my flash drive or another way to do it without installing something new on the machine?
