thinking of buying a gateway laptop and wondering if the accidental coverage is worth it. have any of you guys had to use this before? was it an easy process or like pulling teeth? Also is their accidental coverage the same as what dell offers. i couldnt find it on gateway's website so i'm assuming they cover the same things?

You might try going into a sales chat and asking about it. This way you also have a transcript of what they say, so if you ever have a problem or they tell you something other than the salesperson (who will likely say it's amazing coverage etc.) you can show them the transcript and say you purchased the protection based on what you were told about it.

If you are prone to dropping things or spilling things, then it would be worth it. I personally do not get the coverage myself.
As for transcripts of chats, that is by no means a contract and you need to see the terms under which you are agreeing (ie. "replacement or repair with refurbished parts or PCs, etc". See who the underwriters are for the insurance coverage and check with www.bbb.org if there are issues with them. It is better to check before you buy than to test the waters after you have "jumped into the lake".
Good luck in what ever decision you make.
