Well, I've almost reached my will's end on this Bluetooth matter.

I have a Palm Tungsten e2 that I want to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth so I can use the Internet on it. At first I couldn't even get it to connect at all it would say something about possibly a bad serial cable or something and just not even connect. Well I followed some different guides and steps all over the internet, and now I got it to connect to my computer and everything fine. Well, when I go to the Browser on it, it tries to connect but gives me the error of something with the URL being spelled wrong possibly or that the websites server isn't connecting. But it does it with no matter what website I type in.

So I'm pretty much confused on everything here. I have a 6860 and all the drivers are installed and everything is up to date, so I'm pretty much about to give up. I read somewhere that it can have something to do with my router, but it's really not that huge of a deal so I'm just posting here to see if anyone else has had any success with this or knew of something I didn't.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

it's usually easier if you start by using the usb cable and about 10 times faster than bluetooth.

you also need to install the wireless usb modem for that device as well. if you havent already done so.

you also need to turn on and make the laptop visible to the palm, then search for it.

you also need to put in a code for the computer and the palm. whatever the book says or code you chose for both.

the bluetoothswitch needs to be on and you need to make sure your bluetooth software is installed and full functioning if it isn't already.

just a few things you can try....

I don't know anything about these devices, but is it possible to try using another browser? It sounds like the hardware is working.

Who is your service provider? I know Verizon cripples the bluetooth on its phones... is yours verizon? You might get more views in the networking in wireless forum.

    Just noticed this thread...

I'm currently using an HTC Vogue (Touch, XV6900) from Verizon. I use bluetooth to sync with my laptop, play audio from the phone on the laptop, and provide 3G wireless connection for the laptop when no wifi network is available.

I'll check out the wireless laptop forums to see if this thread continues there...

Did you have to hack it to get it to work or did it work by itself? The only way I can get my vx 8700 to work is by syncing it with BitPim, and it takes forever that way. I find it a lot simpler to just use a cable.

my vx9100 snycs fine with my bluetooth. i believe on their 'updated' phones, they enabled full bluetooth support, as i could send pictures to and from my phone/computer/other test phone.

With their Windows Mobile "smart-phones" I simply installed wm6_bt_dun to enable bluetooth tethering. Everything else was built-in.

On my older Motorola phone (V710m) I did have to hack, but once hacked there was no further problem connecting. If the phone doesn't support bluetooth 2.0 you will get more bandwidth with the cable. The cable may be faster than 2.0, but I like the convenience of no wires.

Howard Forums is a good starting point to get this working. There are other forums dedicated to PDA/Smart-phones as well.
