Yes. That will work just fine, albeit its going to add a bit more heft, as Im sure you already know. Its basically just going to plug in to the charging jack and keep the battery charged for longer amount of time.

pardon my noobshiness, but can you explain how it is compatible?

To tell you the truth, all I know is that internal batteries have to be made by the original manufacturer of the laptop otherwise it won't work . Thats why I'm looking for something external.

(btw shouldn't it be ac, not dc?)

Sure. All it is is a 19VDC battery with a cable and a tip on the end to plug into the charging port on the laptop. The laptop just sees it as the normal charger. The reason its DC instead of AC is the laptop only accepts a DC input as the power supply(the brick with the cable you plug into the laptop and the wall) drops the voltage down to 19volts and also rectifies the AC into DC before going into the laptop. Think of it like your cellphone charger, just a lot bigger.

it doesn't weigh too much too, just a little over a pound :D

I haven't seen a review of this particular battery anywhere so far, does anyone have experience with it or with the site?

(btw does anyone know how much mAh my laptop has? its not listed in the specs)
