    Hi guys,

Another day, another P-7805u question from the newbie.

I've noticed that my 7805 occasionally will emit a high pitched "whine" like sound. Seems to be more prevalent when I first start up the system.

Has this happened to any other 7805 owners??

I was researching a bit last night and read about the so-called "Core 2 Duo whine" - could this be the culprit? My 14-day return window to Best Buy is closing and I want to hammer out any potential issues...

Sounds like a fan issue to me. Perhaps it's not seated properly. Unless you feel like cracking open the case, I'd exchange it if I were you.

Mine does that too when the GPU is heated up. Maybe a little oil might suffice for mine, but I'm too afraid to open the laptop under warranty. If your laptop is not refurbished, I'd exchange for a new one ASAP.
