Just made this quick and useless thread to ask for an exact number.

What is the performance gain from a t5550 to a t9300 in the Frames Per Second bar.

Exactly how many FPS will i get over the t5550.

i am guessing about 5-7 FPS myself. But i want to hear from those who have theirs.

Anyone with an upgraded CPU on their 6860 can tell me, be it a t8300 and up. Thank you and this thread can be immediately closed once i get a solid proven answer.

I just installed my x7800 and oc'd it just a tad. According to the laptop benchmark webpage the x7800 is right behind the t9300 in performance, the t8300 about 8 ranks down from that. I dont play many games besides wow, warcraft 3 and counter strike and the biggest performance increase i saw was with warcraft 3 (it being an rts and whatnot). there is really no way to tell exactly how much you of a gaming boost you'll get as each game is different in system requirements and certain intensities. Rest assured though, it IS an upgrade :p Heheheheeee.

I put a T8300 in my 6860FX, now I cant tell you the EXACT gain in FPS... But i run everything at a much faster and cooler pace than before. Just remember to undervolt :)
Im playing Crysis on high - and CoD4 on my external 28" monitor at 1920x1200 AA-max FLAWLESSLY. Something I wouldnt have been able to do before.

Then again, it all comes down to what game your playing.
If your trying to play a game, for example Crysis, which at most parts is very processor intensive then you will get a [medium/huge] frame rate increase rather than other games which are not.

Yeah i want to play GTAIV. But if a X7800 cant run the game maxed out then screw that.

RIght now i just want to get Crysis and Warhead to run butter smooth. Including FarCry2.

It wont run "super smooth" per say (unless your taking into consideration on lowering your settings and your resolution), however, it will indeed run smoother than the T5550.

As for Far Cry 2 with my current T5550, its painfully slow when you play it at the native resolution (1440x900) with DX10. I get about 20FPS and at some times I get 10-15FPS!!!

Im pretty sure that the T8300 will do you some good on both Crysis and Far Cry 2. Those games are true machine killers :p

    No i'm sticking with CCC lvl4 and 1440 900.

As long as it never dips below 25FPS, thats butter smooth too me.

Yeah I suppose so. Though for me its 30FPS which is just right, but I guess 25FPS is not so bad as well :D
