I am a little bit confused on the preparation of the "definitive nvidia drivers update" sticky.

    Preparation

    1) Download and install Driver Sweeper

    2) Download the latest nVidia drivers and appropriate modified inf file from LaptopVideo2Go - scroll down for direct links to latest versions

I installed driver sweeper but for #2 I am confused on which drivers to download and if they are different then the modified inf files?

Do I download all of these?

Latest Beta Display Drivers and Modified INF Files

    Latest Community Customised Display Drivers

Latest nVidia GeForce for Notebooks Drivers

    Latest PhysX System Software

    Latest nVidia System Tools (nTune)

or do I just download the Beta Display Drivers and Modified INF Files?

get dox drivers version 185.85 - no need to mess with infs. But do make sure you clean stuff before you put them on :)

I second the above recommendation. DOX 185.85 is a good compromise between all-round stability + performance and is WHQL-certified so it also allows for Blu-ray playback. Either that or go with 190.15; does everything 185.85 does, sans Blu-ray playback due to it being a beta driver.

nTune 6.05 is only required for GPU OCing.

PhysX is optional too (if you want ragdoll calcs. offloaded from CPU to GPU IIRC).

All you need to do is download the actual drivers, if you read it would tell you if you need the Modified INF or not and most of them don't. So uninstall video driver and then do a clean with driver sweep before you install.

NVidia's 179.28 drivers can be installed without modding anything too. However, if you only use NVidia's notebook drivers, you will find a limited number of driver versions are available, and not all of them support the card in your FX. However, you can install any NVidia driver, even the desktop versions per the info in the sticky. The vast majority of NVidia's drivers will bomb initially because your laptop card isn't supported in the inf. Once the install bombs, swap out the stock nv_disp.inf file for the one provided by laptopvideo2go (for the version of the NVidia driver you d/l'ed), and you can continue the install.

Alternatively, you can d/l both the driver and, if needed, the inf from laptopvideo2go.
