So the 6831 and 6860 are out, I'm sure quite a few people want to as5 their gpu and cpu for lower temps. While the cpu is easily accessed, the gpu is much less so. Has anyone stumbled across a guide to get to the gpu? I've already seen many posts that tell you how to get to your ram, optical drive, cpu, etc, but those are all done from the bottom of the laptop. I believe the gpu is accessed from ripping off (not literally) the keyboard and inwards.

The GPU is soldered on the motherboard rather than a MXM card, you'll need to disassemble the whole laptop to get to GPU core which is quite risky since there's no service manual yet.

Exactly, I was aware you had to take apart quite a bit of the laptop to get to the gpu. That is why I ask if anyone has made such a guide yet.

Warning: do not read this thread if laptop nudity makes you cringe!

*Cringes, and types, blushed by the Erotic-Laptop-chatter"

...Just a quickie (pun intended), Is it worth all the trouble/Digging at the Laptop's entrails, just for "lower temps".....?

Wouldn't this void the warranty? (ignore this if you don't have a Warranty)

I never bought any warranty, and I love taking stuff apart (did a case mod for both psp and my ds, along with doing as5 on other DELL laptops) and most importantly of all, I'm a low temp nut. You allow me to keep my cpu at 10 degrees Celcius, I'M THERE! In any case, no warranty for me, so I'll be an adventurer.

Do you think you can get a performance increase by lowering the temp. that much?
Might be a waste of time.
