I'm looking to pick up a new laptop when Windows 7 is released. I'm limited to Best Buy merchandise because I have a $1250 store credit to spend.
I think I'm not going to get another gaming laptop(had the P7811 but played about 2 games a year on it). One that popped up on Best Buy's site at a decent price is the NV7802U.

I've looked all over this site and all over search engines but I can't find anything about this laptop. I'm guessing it was just released. I see it has the Intel 4500 integrated graphics card, and there are reviews on that showing it's not too great. But if I won't be gaming, I don't see that as an issue.
Does anyone have any information on this laptop before I try to pick it up this week? Thanks.

This isnt a FX or a gaming laptop at all it shouldn't be on that page probably a mess up by bestbuy

I just preordered this one myself. I too was looking for a decent laptop that would surf the internet and play movies.
In the $600 price range, I couln't find a better equipped laptop that wasn't a refurb.
The graphics processor sure isn't powerful, but it will do what you need it to. You can boost it by using some more system ram if you want to. But for most things, you won't need to.
The only thing I really lament it not having is built-in bluetooth. But I can live without it. It has an intel wireless networking card, which in my experience has been an excellent performer. It can also be expanded to 8gb of ram, not that I will.
If you're not in too much of a hurry to buy, I'll run it through it's paces and let you know what I think. It should arrive to me on the 22nd, if Best Buy is to be believed. -
My post was saying how my last laptop was a FX gaming one, but I never actually played games with it, so now I'm looking for a new one and seeing if there is any info on the 7802. -
System is pretty much what I'd expected. 3dmark05 scores in the 1300 - 1400 range, so obviously not a gaming rig. Not too much bloatware, but what was there I deleted (nothing particularly useful). System is responsive in Windows 7 and the display is nice; not too much bleeding along the edges. Speakers were a bit of a bright note, not that they'll knock your socks off (they're still only notebook speakers after all.
There is a handy row of touch sensitive buttons along the top of the keyboard to control sound, wifi, touchpad, and bluetooth (this notebook doesn't have it, so they must use this chassis for multiple setups)
It has no problems with web pages utilizing shockwave and extensive use of flash. Video playback is smooth, even H.264.
I am very pleased with the Intel WiFi card. I get maximum signal (five bars) for my wireless connection and the router is one floor down and on the other side of the house. My last laptop only received 3/5 bars.
I think this one is well worth the $599 they're asking.
Just don't ask it to game. I got about 31 fps on WoW with medium details on. Playable, but barely. -
Have you sure that this NV7802U can be expanded to 8gb?
Thanks!

I am thinking about picking one of these up tomorrow.
Any reports on the battery life?
I have seen something claiming 5 hours battery life, but that can't
be correct. -
I also wonder how many time is the battery going to last.. maybe 2-3 hrs...
and, anybody knows if it has a BLU-RAY BURNER, not a player, but for burning blu-rays.....?
Any info on the NV7802U?
