Alright, this makes no sense. I've just spotted the sister to the Gateway M360X. The Best Buy version 6518GZ is $899.00 on sales. An identical
M360X is $1,054.99 before $50 mail in rebate. This is not right. The online store should always be less than the brick and mortor store. Has anybody bought the 6518GZ?

I would like the 12cell battery that might make more sense to buy the M360X from Gateway. The Best Buy sales tax is about $85 which brings the price closer to the Gateway price.

    Please give me any feedback.

ehh..WRONG...the online store isn't always less than getting something at the store...get the cheaper one if they are both identical

My only problem with the best buy model is the lack of upgradable battery. I want the 12 cell battery and the Gateway at the store is 6 cell. It's going to cost an extra $150 to get the 12 cell battery.

    It's all about margins...

Bestbuy most likely sells such volume that they get 40-50% off what you see on the Gateway site. They're able to pass the savings along, if they choose to.

Just as in the case of eMachines, which merged with Gateway, the new Gateway notebooks are the value/features leaders at BestBuy.
