Does anyone know who designs and makes Gateway notebooks, most notably, the gateway M210S notebook ?? I want to find a clone for that particular notebook instead of paying more to Gateway for the same notebook.

    Thanks !!!!

It is cheap enough. That price is very good. I believe they have/had a promotion for free shipping.

Not a clone, but BestBuy sells a retail version of this notebook. I got a pretty good price for it (999) last weekend with the 1.6, DVD Burner, 60gb. They call it the 3522GZ

I saw the 3522GZ notebook that you bought at BestBuy selling for $1,999. If you got it at rebate ($999), then, you have to factor in taxes, which gives a total of $1,080 assuming an 8% sales tax - although I don't know the sales tax in your state. I got the same laptop with DVD burner, although half the ram and 1.3 processor. The problem with your notebook and mine is that we can't use a good video card like ATI to play sophisticated games like HalfLife2 or Doom3. That's the problem. If you wanted to buy this laptop to play these high-level type of games, you should have found out that the video card on that laptop is integrated onto the motherboard, which means you can't slide a vid card in it. I won't be using this laptop for gaming, so, I'm safe, more safe because I got it at $900 - no tax no s/h. Sorry to burst your bubbble.
