If you do, what settings/resolution and specs have you got?

I'm running a T9300 on a otherwise stock P6860FX. 2XAA medium textures and high detail on native Res. I get some slowdowns, especially after loading. I also get white lines when I nuke something or a big explosion goes off. They dissipate but I was just wondering if anyone else had such issues.

I quite enjoy it. I was a huge fan of Total Annihilation (best RTS of all time, revolutionary), so Chris Taylor's spiritual successor to the game was on my must-play list.

Nukes and their countermeasures take much longer to build, unlike TA. Experimental units are fun, particularly giant robots that crush other units. Not always effective, but fun.

Not many missions, but each lasts hours.

The three sides are more similar than I expected, with most units having an equivalent. Even the hp/damage/cost of the equivalent units is similar.

Veteran units get quite a bit more life, as well as repair damage and do more damage.

I realized that the Aeon (will make sense once you start playing) units tend to hit harder, but fire slower, they also have a somewhat longer range.

Cybran units don't do as much damage, but fire more quickly.

I find that macro management tends to be more important than micro management due to the scale of the maps/units. This of course depends on playing style as well.

Well, the scale of the maps are huge, much larger in scale than any of the DOW maps I've played. You don't get many unit abilities and such to play with as well, so a lot less microing compared to DOW or WC3 or the like.

I played it a bit when it first came out, didn't really get into it though. Maybe I should give it another try. And BTW dtwn83... I think you mean "micro" management ;)

Anyway's, seems like a decent game, maybe I'll give it a try again later. I have it but not installed right now, I'm trying to just keep games installed that I'm actually playing  I'm trying to finish Mass Effect right now, awesome game IMO.

ammm.... err... I don't play a ton of RTS games, and when I've heard about them I've only heard of "micro-management". Only time I've heard macro-management is related to business. What do you mean by macro?

And sorry for steering the thread off-topic a bit

    Ahh, I see.

    Will this help?

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326479

In Starcraft for example, macro usually refers to management of the economy, while micro would be the usage of abilities/management for individual units.

    Quote that might help
Quote from forum thread that made me lol
