Is the same procedure as Arctic Silver 5?
I've read the guide on their website:
http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/images/install_mx2_retail.pdf
And it says to not spread it but for the arctic silver 5, it recommended spreading the compound over the exposed part with a credit card or related. To add to that the guide above isn't even for an exposed CPU...

I've found out following the instructions (just a small pea size and let the heatsink spread it out) is actually better than spreading it. Had trouble finding the exact thinness for spreading as it's not conductive like AS5.

the arctic cooling MX2 is less viscosity than AS5, it will spread itself
out under the heatsink pressure. -
which is better cooling performance wise? artic silver or mx2?

looks like mx2. i have it under the heatsink.
