See attached as my ram usage got up to 48% and said "whoa little dogie". Any of these I can end and not affect normal functions or gaming?
    Thanks in advance.

66 processes is still a lot. When I release a vista or 7 computer to a customer it should have 30 or less processes running (And thats with all the programs installed). There is TONS of stuff you can disable. Most programs you install will put multiple executables in startup and also multiple services set to automatically start when windows loads, whether you need them or not. I can't help you very much though, you only posted a small portion of the processes, and I prefer it arranged by name to see exactly what doesnt belong to windows. I can clearly see you have a lot of stuff installed, but there are still many windows services running in the background that you do not need, and there are also many program processes running that you do not need.

    If you go here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
and download Process Explorer it will help you. Just point your mouse over an item and you will see information about what program or service is associated with each process. I'm not saying it is the perfect answer but it helps.

i never really looked at how many i have running, my 6860 runs great and i too have 66 processes running, never really noticed any difference since i reinstalled vista. I usually run CCleaner and defrag once every week or so.

Yep, I have 57 running. Can't see any obvious culprits to kill. I gave up on aggressive manipulation of services years ago. I do obvious stuff and call it good. With so much ram space today it is not as important. But you do need to monitor it to some degree.

Thanks all. I knew about sidebar, and a couple of others apps like the camera. I also thought that with 4gb of ram this might not be an issue anymore. So with the responses I got, I see that its all good.
    Thanks

If you play games or use programs that need more ram then it is very important.
