    it says that

setup has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying.

there is no need to install this update

anyone know a way around this?

this is from installing the kb888111

if not can anyone help me getting working on sp2? and yes ive tried http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3871519&postcount=178
method and it didnt work. only when i restarted i heard the sound then it just disappeared again

i actually couldnt do step 7 if that mattered

and the .bat, is it supposed to be a notepad file or a bat file?

also whenever i disable the high def UAA and enable it, the sound works, other than that, when i restart its all gone, i think its cuz i lose the conexant hd-audio smartaudio 221 everytime i restart

also just so u know i cant even run devcon, says its not a valid win32

Big Mike told me to do this: open my computer or in any open windows explorer folder and go to tools -> file options -> view tab -> uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"go back to your audiostart folder and remove the .txt from your audiostart.bat file (its hidden but will appear once you do that) and then make a shortcut to that file in c:\documents and settings\(YOUR USER NAME)\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\

I'll let you know, I'd sure prefer not to have to run a batch file and not have audio for about 30 seconds when windows starts, but so far that seems to be the only option. There are several other notebooks out there that all have this same issue apparently.
