Even though I don't have control over this issue, I'm not sure it's really a problem. I just want to know if it has happened to anybody else. It's the fan on the back right, and it only does this after my computer wakes up (don't know about hibernation). On one hand, I get worried when fans start kicking in for no apparent reason. On the other hand, I saw core 1 get to 7C, which made me feel happy.

The P-FX edition laptops are well known for having bad fans, as far as I know it's a bios issue and there aren't any updates that fix it as of yet. I wouldn't take my word as being written in stone but I think there's not much hope untill someone somewhere releases a new bios update

Eh, whatever. Temps are still well within normal, so it's all good. I have noticed that it's starting to act a little like the gpu fan used to act before I got a new cooler. So I'm back to having a spastic fan I guess.

Edit: This might actually help with TZS0 problems now that I think of it.

Hi, it's a bios thing. I had the same on my 7811fx. No worries at all, it will reset itself when you restart the laptop. So if it bothers you, you can switch bioses and see if it changes the fan behavior. I was using the 9c.12 bios and the fan would kick on medium when the computer woke up. Which made the core temps 15-16c all the time, and my gaming made them go all the way up to the mid-20s sometimes! The horror!! lol.

Same here, I have the stock .05 bios and the CPU fan (right side) would stay on low when it woke up from sleep. But if I rebooted then the fans would be stopped and the GPU would spin up for a sec or two sporadically.

I just put in an Intel SSD and after booting up the machine is dead silent. No noise whatsoever; that is, until the GPU spasms...

That's a little weird. The problem developed for me. I guess it was running so cool before that fans didn't even need to kick in. And the Zalman nc 2000 fixed the GPU spasms. I was very impressed with that. I never expected a cooler to affect idle GPU temps that much.
