On my gateway 7320GZ, the battery was showing 100% full forever and showing the AC sign whether plugged in or not. I re calibrated to no avail. So, I went into the device driver. One of several Battery Driver had (!) next to it. Deleted so to reinstall--now no power meter tab in Power Properties in Windows XP. Hardware manager cannot find, reinstall this driver. Do I have to reinstall windows or is there a way around this?

    You can try this

    go to RUN then type

    SFC \SCANNOW

make sure you have the XP installation CD so the needed files can be copied, if that doesn't work you will need to do a repair install or reformat.
