First of all, what is the general concensus on battery life on the P-7811 FX?

I am considering adding a second HDD to my P-7811 FX. But how much will this affect battery life? Or I may just ditch the 200GB altogether for a 320GB WD Scorpio Black 7200RPM.

A second hard drive will always cut into your battery lif3 (and more so if raided, which isnt an issue on the 7811)

But its not a horrible drain. I think i lost about 10-20 minutes off my battery time (according to how much the 2nd hard drive is working) on my 6860. I went from 2 hours 50 minutes to about 2.5hours in power saver.

With the 7811 being a much more efficent machine powerwise, you should be able to squeeze 3 hours out of it even with a 2nd hard drive i would think. or close to that anyways.

if your going to the 7200RPM 320gb drive you will notice it, but again it shouldnt be much. I only lost about 20 minutes of battery time with the scorpio blacks
