    Hi,

I am new to this forum and laptops in general. I've just recently purchased a Gateway MT3423 from Circuit City and I was browsing online for spare batteries. What I found was that most replacement/spare batteries I found available is rated at 14.4v and 4800mAh, where as the OEM battery is 11.1v and 4800mAh. I was wondering if it is okay to go and purchase the spare battery with a higher voltage rating. Would it mess up my laptop, fry my mobo, etc.

    Thanks,
    Eric
