Hey guys i want to create a gaming benchmark so we can all have something to look at and see how our systems are performing, and see if our hardware is ok, or if we might need to adjust or even send our notebooks in to get a faulty gpu repaired.

If you would like to help out, Get a program such as fraps or whichever one you would like to use. which will record your game and give you avg, low, high fps. i would get the registered version of FRAPS since it cant record more then 30sec, however you get that registered version is up too you lol, or use another program which i dont know of another one out there.

Then List your results in the order listed below, and i will put together a list for every os, cpu, gpu, ect. ect. driver versions, so we can all have for comperasions whenever we need in deciding upgrades, troublshooting, ect.

I ERASED THIS LAYOUT UP HERE, BECAUSE IT WAS A BIT DISORGANIZED USE THE ONE I POSTED FOR L4D, and you can add anything to the game settings if a game has more complex options.

You can get a free program like hwmonitor, get the regular version not the pro. Which will show you your high low and avg temps.

    Thank You

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO LIST YOUR OVERCLOCKS IF ANY, WHEN YOU LIST YOUR SYSTEM!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Here are my first results for Left4Dead, some of you may notice readings of 0Fps with fraps lol, idk what that is but probably a glitch, so i disregarded those benchmarks.

You also have to press deafult key is F11 To start the benchmark and then press F11 again to stop it and it will record the avg min and high, make sure the boxes are checked off in the FPS tabs of FRAPS to record avg, low high.

If you need any help using fraps feel free to post.

Once i get a whole bunch of these benchmarks a few for each game, then i will make a detailed easy to read organized list.

Do you have the registered version?
Im not an expert at it lol, i have recorded any video with it yet.

I just use the benchmark F11 key

If you see the fps displaying it means the benchmark is on, so press F11 to end it, since most of the time it will be on as soon as you launch the game.

Then Press F11 once you are in the game to start it again and you shall see the FPS counter show up again and then F11 to end it again.

And it will save it your fraps folder, in a file called fraps log.

You can take some screenshots i dont think a video would really help, unless you are going to use it for other purposes.

But i will look into it and see what the issue with the sound is.

Hey i got the p-7805u 1920x1200...thinking it could play all valve games with maxed out settings like its nothing...but its only playing OK...is it normal in Team Fortress 2 for me to be getting an avg of 30-45 fps with all setting high except ...
    Water detail: reflect world
    AA: 8x CSAA
    Filter mode: Trilinear
    Vsync: disabled
    Motion blur: disabled

Im using the new DOX driver....so im wondering if thats why my fps is lower
You think the original drivers that game with the fx will perform better?

no idea about the drivers but that seems about right i usually get around the same frames, but i will be benchmarking that game also.

In the meantime though do a benchmark for it like the one i did above and post your results and then we can see what the problems are if any.

But generally speaking the Dox drivers usually give a performance hit from what i've read on the forums.

So is that a bad thing?

o and i get about 80fps for CSS and only 25-30 on Left 4 Dead on similar settings!!! not all maxed out! AM i just expecting too much from this 1200k GAMING laptop or is there a problem!? -sigh-

I think i am just gona restore to the original drivers...but how?

I'm getting 60-100FPS in Left 4 Dead with everything completely maxed out at 1920x1200 res and Vsync off...
    Using Dox's drivers.

thats actually ok, im getting around there too during Action like hordes and being biled on, but if you are getting those frames with no acction then there might be a problem.

Like i said run the fraps benchmark, and it will give you the avg and then we can see how it performs then.

    2x AA, 4x anisotropic.
60 was what it dropped too when I was firing at the zombies, it hovered at 90-97 when I was walking through the Hospital.
Also note the Flashlight takes 4-6FPS itself.

Yea then thats a problem fxowner, my advice would be just do a clean install of windows, and see if the problem continues if it does send it in for repair.

Yeah after trying all 3 drivers..my fps is same.. avg of 30-35fps on TF2...40-50 on L4D and 50-90 on CSS...and i am not even using maxed settings..-sigh-

I have no idea what i did wrong...i should have tested the performance when i first got it before changing driver...you guys think a system restore will fix everything? It will be like the first day i got it right? Or should i Windows 7 ..maybe? What other options do i have? I hope i dont have to reinstalling again all those games again...

    -SIGH-

btw with the same settings semigamer had when i lowered my aa down to 2, i started getting around 50-60fps, 40 like biled on with hordes everywhere alot of action, im sure if i had a better cpu it wouldnt be a problem.

You never confirmed with me if you were set on High Performance mode.
Have you checked to see if you are in Power Saver or Balanced mode in the power options? Click your battery icon in the bottom right icon tray and see which one is dotted off.
Also, when you were installing the drivers, it gave you three options, Performance, Balanced, and Quality. Which one did you click?

Are you installing the new drivers on top of the old ones? Or are you properly uninstalling them and then cleaning out all the crap left behind and THEN installing 1 new driver, and then repeating this same process every time you try a new driver.

Yeah the power option was giving me a problem before but its changed to high...and yeah i went into the nvidia control panel and changed it to high performance and turned vsync off..hmm what else do i need to do...

A system restore brings it back to how it was the first day i got it right?

Well im not sure if it did it properly but the first time i did it i used disksweeper then the other times i just uninstalled driver, reboot, and install...maybe its some left over crap from old drivers slowing me down...i dont know..system restore can fix that right?

I guess maybe they werent ur pictures.

    What FPS are you getting??
Also whats ur anisotrphic and aa?

Get FRAPS and post a benchmark thats the whole purpose of this thread so we can see if there is something wrong with out computers ect.

Did not know I took scrn shots. Could not find any. I have everything maxed.
The lowest I get is 25 with very large horde and boomed at same time. Mostly I'm staying 40 and up with zombies, 55 and up just running around with some zombies.

I'm broadcasting right now which cuts the frame by a little more then half of you want to watch.(Nvm) Too laggy for me) Playing at 10-25 fps sucks!
