So I am sitting here looking at the empty min PCIe slot in my P-6831FX and wondering if there is anything I can stuff in there that will be a worthwhile improvement to this already excellent laptop. Most of the cards I have found are SSD cards but I have heard mixed reviews about using them as Readyboost drives. So I was wondering if anyone here has experience using them as such or if any other options are available.

You could get another wireless card, an Intel 5300, though i don't think it'd make any difference. You could also get a TV tuner and use your laptop to watch television shows. Another option is Intel turbo memory, which I don't think would benefit you if you are using 4 gigs of ram already. There are other blue tooth options as well, such as media remotes. The SSD would probably give you the best PERFORMANCE increase, as i haven't really heard anything too profound about Intel's turbo memory. The TV tuner is also a pretty nifty option as well.

the mini pci ex1 based ssd, heaps better than an equivalent express card ver (which use a usb controller over a pc ex1 cont.)

I had to google to figure out what you were talking about.... But that's very nifty.

Link to these types of SSDs for sale?

They are nice, but won't fit...too thick and too long.
