    My nephews were given that laptop for christmas. It's a nice everyday use laptop. They do game on it, but only some online mmo's nothing too taxing. I installed a blu ray on one of them and it works fine.

    i have a NV53A24u with similar specs. ok general laptop. had to replace a stick of ram and the dvd-rw drive. both were covered under warranty but was easier to replace myself instead of sending back to gateway and having it reformatted.
