Ok, here's how you can help. First a little background.
My Crucial M4 64GB SSD was just purchased from Newegg.ca for the excellent price of $99. Since the install (and subsequent re-install) every every time the laptop (M-6862) is put to sleep=BSOD. There is another thread I started in the Crucial M4 SSD Series thread here on notebookreview.com, although it is related to performance.
Help from Crucial's forum is pointing to bios incompatibility and recommend a bios upgrade. The problem is that Gateway's update, 89.91.24 is only for Win7 x86 only. A chat with a gateway technical support rep confirmed the update is not compatible with Win7 x64.
I believe that the M-6862 isn't the only model excluded from Win7 x64 compatibility. Am I correct?
So, my question to those who play in the dangerous field of bios modifications is: Has anyone successfully upgraded from 89.91.22 to 89.91.24 on a model that lists compatibility Win7 x86 only? And how do I do the same?
Thanks guys.

Anyone with knowledge about where to find/request bios mods? Or to point me to someone I can pm or email? Please chime in.

Seems as though everyone on this site is hung up on SLIC mods and they don't care about anything else. I don't see the point of slic mods. I'm running windows and activated without a single issue with 7loader and have done so on like 50 computers. So I don't get why everyone's dying for a SLIC bios. Most pointless wast of time I have ever seen in my life. Seriously. What's the point? I'm interested in bios modding to extend more features etc... Thats the kind of modded bios i want. I see absolutely no benefit to slic bios at all. What is the damn point? Sorry just kinda wanted to talk a little about this site and it's obsession without pointless slic mods. Where are the real bios mods that make a Noticable difference to the computers operation?
Bios Upgrade from 89.91.22 to 89.91.24 Possible for Win7 x64?
