I am new here but really need some help. I have a Gateway Laptop W350A Vista Home that boots up but I get no screen. I can only see the mouse moving around the black screen. First step i took was to replace the memory but ...nothing. Second, I connected an external monitor to it and it still did the same thing. I pressed fn+f4, and you can see the glare of the screen turn off and move to the monitor but still nothing, just the arrow from the mouse. As I was searching forums on this issue thinking it might be a video card issue (leaving the pc on) a message popped up, asking me to install the monitor drivers. I don't mean the screen came back, I just mean that a small screen popped out and asked me to install the external monitor drivers. So i think that rules out the video card, right? Does anyone have any suggestions other than "it might be the LCD sir" from the all mighty Geek Squad. Anything you guys can think of would be really appreciated.

    Thank you, Rene

    Hi Rene,
can you try and boot into safe mode and reinstall your graphics drivers? Try that first and see if that solves the issue :)
