    Hey guys, my optical drive is starting to make weird noises; like the latch is closed and it wants to open, making vibration noise, but if i hold the tray in it stops, so I'm thinking about just upgrading. If I am going to upgrade I want the best possible so is there a blu-ray drive that would fit into this lappy? Thanks guys.

    If your going to upgrade to a Blu-Ray deive you just need any standard laptop drive. Sony makes a pretty good one and its around 200 dollars if my memory serves.

    Might want to PM Johnksss as he had one in his 6860. He could probably tell you the exact model number he used.

    Do you have a 1920x1200 panel in your rig? If not why are you wanting to upgrade to blu-ray? The 1440x900 screen isnt able to support the format.

    I am not upgrading but the downscale from 1080p is still better than upscaling from standard DVD(480p or something like that). Also I have no need for a PS3 so this is the cheapest way to get a bluray player for the 32" flat panel LCD I'm getting for my dorm. Thanks Kamin I'll give Jonksss a PM. :D
