Ok, so I know the 7811 has an extra, unused PCI Express mini slot. The question is, does anyone have any idea what kind of Bluetooth module will fit here. I would like pics, part numbers, ANYTHING anyone can find. I am doing my own research as well, but so far have not had any luck.

Figured out the part number from FOXCONN but can't seem to find it available anywhere.. Can anyone with a P-6860 FX or the like take a pic of theirs?

I second both of those! I have both and both work great(Use the BT module on the other lappy). The IOGear micro dongle from BB also works very well. The Nano VX is probably the best mouse I have every used.

So, I guess no one knows the part the number or whatever for the internal bluetooth module for this laptop. I'm interested as well seeing as there's an empty slot inside the notebook. Although, my knowledge is very limited when it comes to bluetooth, are there suppose to be any wires or anything that hook up to the module like the Wi-Fi cards?

No. No wires, just the card itself.

yeah, technically that empty space isn't for bluetooth and not sure if it would work using the keyboard key short cut. the internal one goes deep inside the computer.

im pretty sure this one is the correct one for your laptop.

not really sure, but a good possibility would be turbo memory.

    1: turbo memory
2: tv tuner would need wires and add ons.
3: you can have two wlans. for what? internet connection sharing/ vpn/ who knows
4: bluetooth. really hard to find, from what a few members have said.

guess you haven't really looked in there to well....lol

1: your laptop has 2 or 3 antennas in it connected to one card. for better reception. you can use one for each card. (not practical, but will work)
2: you can run your own antennas if you have the patients to take it all apart and route the wires in to the lcd housing.

Yes, the Kensington is really small, which is great.

Also, HEADS UP! Amazon has it as its deal of the day, but there are only 16 left (I just bought two).

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox

It's at 19.99. Best Buy is selling them for $40 plus as of last week. Plus no tax when you buy from Amazon, which doesn't hurt a bit.

Good deal. I got mine for something like 45 bucks at Best Buy and thought the price was idiotic but oh well. I think I'll return mine now if I can and just use one of the ones I just bought from Amazon, and give the other to my brother.

bluetooth 2.1 is out (for about 2 months now I think)... faster speeds, and one of the features is you touch your device to the dongle to connect - meant to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.

pointing this out becuase i haven't seen very many 2.1 devices as of yet

Ouch, I bought mine last week on Amazon for the regular price - that smarts!

Works great; BTW the drivers on the included disk are Toshiba's Vista 32 bit; I put them on just to see if it was any better or worse but took them right off again and have thrown that mini-disk in the trash; they disabled the stock MS 64 bit drivers, were extremely "fat" in comparison, and added nothing that I could see.

so this is a CONFIRMED mini pci port right ? with 8 pin ?
and if we would like to order the internal ones by gateway, we should call them and tell them the part no. we would like to buy ,right ? because we can't buy it online .

Can anyone give me a final conclusion that which INTERNAL bluetooth MINI PCI CARD could well fit our MYSTERIOUS empty port FX7811 ? or , NO ONE had figured out yet ? Thanks

um why do you pay 20-40 bucks fro a dongle?? honestly i paid 4-6 dollars for what your paying 20+ when it comes to stuff like this china is your friend. you can get a debranded dongle out of the same crapy factory that made yours for 1/4 of the price. i saw my dongle on tiger direct for 35 bucks!

Ummm, what? He's saying he paid less for his than the others. Either way, it's still a dongle and taking up a USB port.
