    Hello,

I have a MX6455 with windows xp that stopped with a blue screen error. I have now the following error during the boot:
line 21247 of the inf file \minint\boot is invalid. Setup can not continue. Press any key to exit.

    I've tried several approaches:
    - Pressing F8 at the boot to start the recovery gives the following messag:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
    - Using the DVD leads me to the initial messag as it checks for a recovery partition on the hard drive before using the DVD
    - The process using an USB with a MBR from the recovery DVD stops with the blue screen messag: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. if this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters..." The MBR from the USB stick works on a different laptop.

Each time the hard drive is accessed during these 3 approaches, there is an error. So I guess the hard drive should be changed. But could it be another component? Is there a way to do the recovery without relying on whatever is on the disk: without using the hidden recovery partition, without using the drivers on the disk (everything required for the recovery should be on the DVD or USB),... ?

    Thanks
